On May 24, 2024, LeRoy Porter, a founding member of the Dikeland Sewer Committee celebrated his 90th birthday. On the following day, he fell and broke his hip. After having his hip replaced, on May 29th he had to have a pacemaker inserted. He is recovering well and will be at a rehab facility for a while, after which he will return to his home on Frederick St with his wife Beth. Best wishes for a full recovery.
In October 2025, letters were sent to all sewer district members to notify them of a small increase in their monthly sewer bill, intended to cover the increased costs of operating the sewer district. Sewer committee members are volunteers who do not receive any payment for their service. The increased sewer charges will take place starting November, 2025.
